This article reports on the main results of a contrastive research concerning lexical anglicisms in the economic discourse of both semiespecialized and scientific news articles. In order to analyse the data, multidisciplinary theoretical and methodological criteria have been used based on pragmatics, text linguistics, discourse analysis and terminology. The data have been analysed descriptively and functionally. Contrastive analysis includes data such as plural forms, gender, morphology, degrees of assimilation, types of cotexts and anglicismequivalent alternation. Likewise, functional analysis allows us to determine the type of discourse function and/or textual subfunction of the anglicisms studied.
