Abstract

This work examines part of José Donoso’s chronicles written in the sixties, a fundamental corpus for an appreciation of his critique of every-day life in the city of Santiago. The chronicles evince the conluence of tradition and modernity from diverse margins. We can therefore observe subjectivities and practices that, precariously and most of the times inadvertently, articulate a resistance to power from an eccentric site in a trajectory contrary to modern rationalities.
