The Other One as the Guilty One: the Noir Literature of Elizabeth Subercaseux

Abstract

The following article reviews the production of the Chilean writer Elizabeth Subercaseux focusing exclusively on her police novels that have a classic estructure and those that are constructed with the classic estructre as a basis. Thus, it proposes an approach to a work that focuses its action in the upper classes of Chilean society and also, where the character that does not belong to this social group, is traditionally presented as guilty of criminal action.
