Women Making Poetry in Décimas. Installation Strategies in the Cultural Field
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article is part of an investigation into contemporary women who write and improvise poetry in 'décimas'. They are de oral poets Cecilia Astorga (Chile), Marta Suint and Susana Repetto (Argentina), Mariela Acevedo (Uruguay), Tomasita Quiala (Cuba) and the writers Liliana Rodríguez and Odalys Leyva (Cuba). It also concerns the Mexican group "Soneras and Versadoras of Tlacotalpan". The question of the installation strategies in the cultural field is articulated with the processes of shaping their identity as artists, with the need for affirmation of female identity, in order to create women's groups as a way to legitimize and develop their art, and make it visible.
