Abstract

This article examines the institutionalization in Chile of new governance arrangements based on increasing interaction among public and private actors. This process, gradual and geographically differentiated, is interpreted as a product of social actors operating within a given social context and constructing complex governance networks based on specific power relations. The theoretical framework exposed here points to consider the reciprocal relation between technical knowledge and politics, and suggests new avenues for applied geographic research.
