The chilean case is an interesting one /O study. because on the hand. it is a countr y with a small population andoon the other hand, it is one of the most industrialized nations of Latin America. The shift /O a framework of out ward orientation has substantially increased regional development in those macroregion with an important endowment of natural resources. In contrast the performance of the metropolitan regions churacterized by the free trade and free market.
